Saving Your E Mails in Outlook.

If you haven’t already set up your outlook account (or other mail software) you will need to do so and instructions can be found here.

Once you have set up you outlook user account with your webmail details, you will need to log into your webmail account as you normally would do at webmail.yourdomain.co.uk.

From here you will need to move any email messages that your need to keep from your sent folders, trash folders or any other folders you may have created, back to the inbox.

Once back in the inbox, go to your MS outlook account and when you refresh all the mails you have added to your inbox in the webmail account will appear in the outlook account.

As stated previously, all the messages that are in the inbox or emails you received after this moment will go to the outlook account, but because you only have basic email functions you will not be able to return emails in this way.

Once we swap over to the new servers then you will have full advanced email account facilities, though you will need to add the new usernames and passwords in the existing outlook account you have just set up.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE

  1. Set up Outlook account if you haven’t already done so.
  2. Login to your normal webmail.
  3. Move all email you need to keep to inbox and then log off.
  4. Start up Outlook.
  5. If mail hasn’t already started to download all the new emails, click on the send/receive button.
  6. All you mails are stored on your computer ready for the server swap over.

If you wish to be extra safe you can back up your emails in outlook too. Please see the Microsoft support site for more information as different versions of outlook and outlook express have different ways of backing up.

When the swap over has taken place all you will need to do is log in to outlook express, and change your account details – click here for more information on this tutorial.
